Farmers from Valdivia and Tarazá denounced damages to their legal crops due to aerial fumigations.
The Government denied the accusation and assured that the agreement signed on May 3rd 2008 by the Government and the coca growers is being honored according to the schedule established.
Mauricio Gómez Morales, Mayor of Valdivia, supported the statement from the Government and said that the farmers want compensations for the alleged damages to their legal crops.
According to Gómez there are 400 people protesting in Valdivia and in Puerto Valdivia there are an additional 500. In February, April and May 2008, coca growers and farmers participated in huge demonstrations asking for alternatives to improve their social and infrastructural conditions.
