The differences between two trades as crucial to the Colombian economy as flowers and commerce became apparent when Asocolflores (Colombian Association of Flower Exporters) complained that Fenalco ( National Federation of Commerce) is trying to divide the flower industry.
According to Asocolflores, in supporting festivals and trade shows, Fenalco is dividing them; Fenalco however, indicated that they are trying to encourage the creation of new businesses and support initiatives that could strengthen the industry.
Gefa, the new association of flower growers, said Asocolflores does not take them into consideration.
