United States President-Elect Barack Obama paid a visit to the White House on Monday for his first post-election meeting with President George W. Bush, a symbolic moment in the transition period.
Bush and Obama met in the Oval Office where they discussed the world financial crisis, conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan and other challenges the Republican President will pass down to his Democratic successor.
It was the first face to face meeting between the two men since Obama's victory over Republican Senator John McCain one week ago.
